Ok, so it isn't really hookie... I had the day off, but that isn't nearly as interesting as playing hookie! And what have I done with this glorious spring day? Some exercise, some scrapping, some dog-parking, and some computering! Pretty full day for a day of rest!
So I finished up a page for the store using My Mind's Eye paper that had lovely scooters covering the page! Well, of course I had to break out the picture of Maggie Mayhem for the occasion! Take a look:
Then, I wonderful thing happened at the dog park! I finally got a fun picture of Bindi pointing! Oh sure, you'd think it was easy to catch a bird dog pointing... well, not so much... it either happens first thing in the morning when I take her out yawning and practically dark, or randomly and I am trying to control her from running out somewhere she will get hurt, or I just don't have a camera.
Well, upon entering the dog park today, there are two unsuspecting birds on the ground across the park... Oh happy day!!! I have my camera, the weather is great, and she didn't gallop off after them - she actually listened to me! So without further ado:
Its not the super cool deep point that she does when she is really excited, but to date its the best shot I have gotten of her point.
Happy to Friday to everyone! I am going to Jenn Amano's tonight for some well-behaved frivolity, so if I am not posting this weekend, send out the rescue crews!
Ciao!

When you need to get things done, why does the clock on the wall magically speed up so that you are pressed to get everything done under the gun? Well, that's been my weekend! From what was supposed to be leisure time on Friday to a baby shower today and some good hours spent helping out with my local Junior League chapter, there hasn't been enough time in this 3 day weekend (and believe me I was using daylight standard time to my advantage)!
I did run by my favorite little scrapbook store, Sweet Memories because they were inundated with new product from CHA!! I am talking everything and the kitchen sink! So I picked up some yummy stuff to work with for the store and here are the first of the many projects to come!
Layout with new Fancy Pants. Love these little birdies and knew it was perfect for a page about my new car Zippy Whizbang!
Next up is a fun canvas purse from Prima! They went strong on the canvas starting at the summer CHA show last year, but have since added fun iron ons and more canvas embellishments to the line. Now this is just a start and the beginning of the album, but so far I am liking it!
Now, gotta go exercise so that I can make it to that baby shower I mentioned earlier! Hope you have a great Sunday and go make something!
Ciao!

At least that will be my excuse! Ok, it was in the mid 70's in GA this weekend and quite arguably the nicest weekend of this year so far. It was simply wonderful! I did manage to get a layout done though!
Its from this past summer when I went to Chicago and did some super fun touristy things.
And I am sad to report that I didn't get started on my mom's sweater. I better get on it!

So mom informs me last week that she would like a sweater for her birthday, but there's a catch... She wants a navy sweater and she wants one that is hand knitted... So I headed over to my favorite knitting store The Whole Nine Yarns and procured the yarn for said sweater.
Now, see those 12,yes 12 balls of yarn? Those are going to magically turn into the gray sweater pictured below. Oh, my moms birthday is on April 23rd... Not nearly enough time to finish it. So wish me luck!

That darn groundhog lied, lied, lied! At the point I would swear to it that February & March traded their weather so that it was warmer in Feb than it is now in Mar!
C'est la vie! When spring does poke it's head up, I'll be ready with a fun new car.... I call her Zippy Whizbang! And to be sure that I look cool, a new pair of Smith shades! Now I'm just waiting on some sun!
Ciao!

Its starting to feel like spring in the South so that means shaking off those winter blahs and begin to think about strappy sandals and shorts (but not necessarily together though)... Well, I've been busy working on a few projects and buying a new car! Fist lets get to the projects!!
First up was a shirt using an American Craft iron-on. These are new at Sweet Memories and a fun way to jazz up a bag or shirt for starters. I added some beads, a few sequins and viola!
and a bit of ribbon for around the neck:
It was a ton of fun, but the beads were a bit heavy for the light-weight shirt I chose, so I used them primarily at the top and then less and less as the design headed towards the bottom of the shirt.
Then there was a little scrapping (of course!) Check out some of the new layouts I did recently:
First up is from Valentine's Day and my very first heart-shaped pizza!
Next up were a couple using Jillibean Soup about my Tigers and their amazing football season (yes, I am allowed to be a bit finatic about them since we haven't won a National Title in over 50 years) :)
Last but not least is a New Year's Eve picture! This is the second year we have gone to Vini Vidi Vici in Midtown to have a wonderful Italian dinner and ring in the new year! So much fun!
Well, time to get to bed! All play and no sleep makes Jennifer a sleep worker in the morning! I'll be back soon with some pictures of my new baby (my new car) and a new knitting endeavor... and hopefully a completed sweater!
Caio!
