A New Year and more posting?!?!

Yes, once again I will set the bar high and try to be a better blogger...  Last year's attempt was an epic fail, but really, I came by it honestly...  Everything really kinda fell apart in the fall...  I had work trips, my dad was very sick, and just too many things to keep up with.  Well, that is all done and now I will try to start again...  so, you ask, what is new?  Well, so many things!! 

First, my Auburn Tigers are BCS NATIONAL CHAMPIONS!!  I do love how that sounds!  I nervously watched the game from the comfort of the couch as a wicked winter storm trapped me in! 

This is day 3 of the 2011 Great Winter Storm Freeze In here in Atlanta.  I am hoping to make it out tomorrow and back to work, but I did have some fun in the snow. 

Well, I should say Bindi had a great time in the snow! 

Ok, that is a start for today... will have to post a picture of some of the sweaters I made... that's right, I am a super cool knitter now too!  ;)

Ok, so these haven't been posted yet!  I had some fun with some Bella Blvd product!  I think I might still be on the "show high" from CHA!  (Shhh, don't tell anyone, don't want to get in trouble!)

CHA Fun and excitement!

CHA has been so much fun!  Seeing lots of really neat people and some of my favorite designers too.  Doing lots of make n takes and mentally spending all kinds of money!!  ;)

Chicago!

The Windy City has been very hospitable to us and the CHA show.  We spent a couple of days touring downtown and seeing some really neat sites including the Navy Pier, some really cool buildings, traditional Chicago style pizza, and 

Luv Ya Chicago!    

Boldly Going Where I Haven't Gone Before!

Ok I really didn't go anywhere per say, but I did do something that I haven't done before.  I made a tutorial video for Little Yellow Bicycle's shrink films.  If you remember Shrinky-Dinks, then you have the idea.  Ok, this is my first video so cut me a little slack please!  ;)  Its only up from here, right?

 

Don't You Love it When You Finish Something?!?

Well, I do!  I have been held up in my creative cave banging out a couple of long term projects that I really had to finish....  you know, time lines and deadlines!  The first is a needlepoint I started back in Jan for some dear people I love.  Its their 25 wedding anniversary and that deserves something special!  So here is the needlepoint that will go off to the frame store tomorrow!!!  I can't wait to see if all done and to see their faces when they unwrap it!

Next up on the project front is SOCKS!!!  Knitted socks that is!  Yes, I have always secretly wanted to learn how to make these little darlings so I took the plunge!  Imagine my surprise when my first sock fit like a glove!  It was practically perfect in every way!  I can't wait until fall when I can wear all my fluffy wonderfully soft and warm knitted socks!!

Oh, please pardon the Stitch N B*itch book!  It really is a great guide to learning to knit...  just a bit interesting title!

For my next project... well, some layouts for Jillibean Soup!  Then, making a skirt by Amy Bulter, oh, and don't forget more socks!!  Can't have the left food jealous of the right, now can we?  ;)  

I've been working on covert things

Ok, not really, but I have been really busy and super secret projects sounds much better than I have been ultra busy doing a ton of stuff that is probably not worth blogging about...  you know, work stuff and graduations and graduation parties....  Now I have a ton of photos to edit... yes, hundreds...  and I did manage to finish up a couple of projects for Sweet Memories.  Check out my Paris book!  It is almost totally 7 Gypsies with some Tattered Angels and a sprinkling of Tim Holtz!

 

And here are the lovely graduates!  Sam graduated from high school and is bound for U of Alabama - yuck! ;)

And on top of all of that, I started my designers class at Jessica Sprage.com.  Really excited about the class and learning some of the secrets behind designing digital elements! 

And as if that wasn't enough, I really wanted to keep learning more knitting and an going to start a class tomorrow night to learn to make socks!  Hopefully there will be lots of socks to be made in the future!  :)

Its Official!

I got my crew assignment for the 3Day Walk in October!  I am going to be one of the course markers this year!  It should be lots of fun and lots of hard work.  Its such a rewarding experience knowing we are helping to kick cancer in the rear!  Wanna help?  Donate Here!
